I have to admit...I really enjoy mixing on the PreSonus Studio Live 16.4.2 digital mixing console. For such a long time I was curious about the microphone pre-amps. It wasn't until I used the board in a live band situation that I discovered how great-sounding the mixing board is. The on-board hi-pass filter is great! I believe all mixing boards should have a variable filter, my how it cleans up vocal microphones, and don't get me started on how high it should be set for speaking! Compressor's are just as good as a DBX 266 but has the accuracy that accompanies the digital realm, which leads into another discussion for another time. The accuracy of the digital realm. Once a signal becomes digital, any change that happens to the signal is just that, change. We don't have to concern ourselves with the quality of interconnect cables or how much was the gear when we bought it...digital world has opened up world's of opportunities for our sonic pallet. Like I said, it's a great sounding board!
More later on this!
